Udupi, Jun 19: In a serial accident at Kadiyali here on Monday June 19, a car rammed into another car and two two-wheelers after one of its tyres burst.
A Maruti Eco car bearing Kerala registration was plying from Manipal towards Udupi, when, on reaching Kadiyali, it suffered a tyre burst.
The car went out of the driver's control and rammed into a Maruti Celerio car parked nearby. It then hit a parked Discovery bike and a scooty.
The occupants of the car, which included, besides the driver, two children and an elderly lady, escaped with minor injuries.
The rider of the scooty was just parking his two-wheeler when the accident took place. He too suffered minor injuries, sources said.
The bike that the car hit into was parked near an electric pole. If the bike had not been there to buffer the impact, the car would have hit the electric pole and the damage would have been worse, the locals observed.
The driver of the car has been identified as Umar.
As soon as the accident took place, locals gathered in big numbers and traffic was affected for sometime.
Udupi traffic police arrived at the spot and registered a case.
