Udupi, Apr 12: The primary aim of political parties is to gain power and not to protect the interest of the people, lamented Dr M V Kamath of Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC).
He was delivering the presidential address at Namma Angady, an exhibition-cum-sale of handicrafts, organized by MIC in association with Namma Bhoomi of Kundapur at Manipal University here on Friday April 11.
'We are increasingly depending on and preferring things manufactured by large scale industries to the products of cottage industry' said Shivananda Shetty of Namma Bhoomi and the chief guest for the day.
Pushpa Kini, director of student affairs of MIC inaugurated the exhibition. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Vanitha G Pai, director of Manipal Media Network and others.
