Abu Dhabi, Jun 6: Abu Dhabi chapter of Sahebaan, a premier social group representing the Urdu speaking Muslim community from the twin districts of Mangaluru and Udupi, hosted a grand Iftar get-together at the India Social and Cultural Centre (ISC) recently, for the community members and their families.
The event was very well attended by distinguished guests from Karnataka NRI community of Dubai, Sharjah and other Emirates.
The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, by a visiting Moulana from South Canara.
Welcome address by Janab Suhail Kudroli head of the Sahebaan team of Abu Dhabi followed next. In his address, he welcomed the guests and spoke about the current challenges faced by the community both here and back home. He called upon the community members to seriously introspect on the achievements made so far and the challenges ahead. He alerted the members not to be complacent with what has been achieved, but to strive more in the areas of education, empowerment and economic development so that overall progress is made to ensure the community stays ahead.
Abdulla Madumoole, general secretary, BWF applauded the Sahebaan communities' contributions and conveyed his wishes for the season. All the guests and members had a sumptuous Iftar with meticulous arrangements for prayers highly appreciated by everyone.
Team Sahebaan Abu Dhabi, thanked the guests for gracing the occasion and all the members of the Abu Dhabi chapter for their wholehearted support. Yunus Sheikh, Wajid Nauman, Saleem Sheikh, Mohammed Jabir, Sheikh Saleem, Muhammad Qasim, Mohammed Sajid, Mohammed Hanif, Nayeem Baji, Haneef Mohammed, Tajammul made the event a memorable one.
