Moodbidri, Apr 4: Students who made a mark in sports and culture at the state or national-level were honoured with 'Alva's Gaurav' awards at a glittering function at Alva's Subbanna Ranga Mandir here on Thursday April 3 night.
State youth commissioner Amar Kumar Pandey conferred the awards on the students and appreciated the work of Alva's in encouraging the sports and culture.
Manjunth Bhandary, president of Bhandary Foundation was the chief guest.
All the achievers were given minimum Rs 1,000 as prize money. Altogether, 87 students were conferred the award.
Narayana Alva, volleyball coach, was also honoured on the occasion for his excellent service to the institute.
