Bantwal, May 23: In a unique celebration of its kind, couples celebrated their 37 years of married life together. In the atmosphere of celebrations of a different kind, 42 couples belonging to Hindu, Muslim and Christian religions who have completed more than 30 years of their married life celebrated their married life on the stage in the premises of Bantwal Kajekar temple.
Senior couples were brought to the stage from Karinjeshwar temple in separate cars. The organizers had made arrangements for the couples to sit together.
Badagajekar gram panchayat president Vajra Poojary set in motion the programme. Dayanand G Katthalsar and lecturer Keshava Poojary spoke about married life. He explained the difference between the past relationships and present relationships and expressed his regret regarding increasing number of divorces.
In the programme that continued from morning till the afternoon, 42 couples were made to sit on the dais and the details of their families, achievements and their children's achievements were provided to the gathering. Hundreds of people who had gathered commended the programme and participated in the lunch.
Gururaj Poojary Ambademar, third son of Gangadhar Poojary and Yogitha got married while parents Gangadhar Poojary and his wife celebrated their wedding anniversary.
