Mangalore, Apr 2: A person asked well-known Kannada comedy writer Dundiraj whether it is better to marry after making love or making love after marriage. Dundiraj replied that a man can make love even after marriage, provided his wife does not come to know!
This was one of the many jokes cracked by Dundiraj during his lecture on ‘Humour in Management’ organized by Mangalore Management Association (MMA) at SDM College here on Tuesday, April 1 here. According to him, managing marital life is more challenging than managing business. Therefore, he concentrated his speech on marital life.
The basic concept of management is Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT). One of his colleagues told Dundiraj that his wife is his strength and neighbour’s wife is his weakness. When the neighbour goes on tour, it is an opportunity and when he himself goes on tour, it is a threat. Even as Dundiraj finished this statement, the entire auditorium burst in to gales of laughter.
The beginning of his lecture was also interesting when he said that he was feeling sad to speak on April 1 which is All Fools’ Day. He said that the organizers invited him as the chief guest thus insulting him and added, 'So far, only my wife knew that I am a fool. Now all came to know this secret,' he said, sending the audience in to another side-splitting laughter.
Dr K Devaraj, principal of SDM College of Business Administration presided over the function. T G Shenoy, vice-president of MMA was present on the dais.
M Shekhar Poojary welcomed the gathering. Amrutha Gulvadi invoked prayer. Pooja Kashyap introduced the guest. Shrivatsa Gudi proposed the vote of thanks. U Rama Rao compered the programme.
