Mangaluru, May 21: A young man died of suspected rabies at Bajpe near here on Saturday, May 20.
Sushant (23) from Thokkur is the person deceased. He was working at MRPL on contract basis.
Sushant had complained that the dog at his house had scratched him three months back. Though he had sustained injuries to his body, he had not taken it seriously. He did not take any medicine or injection for the same.
The dog died some days later, but no one suspected anything.
On May 19, Sushant experienced high fever and he was taken to a hospital and got admitted. He breathed his last the next day.
Doctor at the hospital said that Sushant died due to complications related to dog bite without confirming that it was rabies.
