Bengaluru, May 16: In view of drought that has hit the state hard this year, the state government has decided to seek god's grace towards getting rainfall all over the state. Towards this end, special puja will be offered on behalf of Muzrai department in all the 34,543 muzrai temples in Karnataka.
The government is expected to issue an order towards this end soon to offer puja to the presiding deities of respective temples in similar way on same date. Muzrai minister, Rudrappa Lamani, has already given oral instruction to the commissioner in the department, duly asking him to fix an auspicious day for offering special puja seeking rainfall together in all these temples.
In all likelihood, an official order comprising date and timing of the special puja to be offered, and procedures to be followed might be issued in a couple of days by the Muzrai commissioner. It is said that the pujas will be backed by prayers to the deities seeking good rainfall in the state for the benefit of farmers and common people to enable them to lead a comfortable life.
