M'lore: Rain Havoc Continues - House Damaged as Wall Collapses

Mangalore, Mar 24: A house located at Vijayanagar, near Padil railway crossing in the city was extensively damaged when the retaining wall collapsed, on Sunday March 23 evening.

The incessant rains that are lashing the coastal district from the last few days are causing havoc. The house belonging to a certain Hasanabba was damaged in the incident that took place at about 4 pm. 

Sources informed that the retaining wall which was built adjacent to the house collapsed owing to heavy rain, damaging the rear wall of the house.  The total loss was estimated to be around Rs 1 lac. No casualties were reported.

Locals gathered at the spot to salvage the building materials and were busy erecting wooden poles in a bid to prevent further damage.
