Mumbai, March 22: Good Friday was observed in Vasai on the open grounds of St Michael Church Manickpur, in a meaningful manner. The celebrations started at 6.15 pm and lasted for about four hours.

Thousands of devotees participated in the celebrations. The church grounds were jam-packed with devotees. Apart from usual ceremonies there was also a ceremony of lowering the body of Jesus from the cross. People clad in Jews' traditional dress carried the body of Jesus in a procession through the streets of Vasai.

Fr Patrick gave a touching sermon in which he said that anyone will forget the suffering he/she is undergoing when he sees the sufferings of others. The suffering of any individual is nothing when compared to other people who suffer around him/her.

Apart from Christians, Hindus and Muslims too took part in the Good Friday service. The parish priest also wished Muslims on Eid Milad and Hindus on Holi which were celebrated on Friday March 21.

Nice to view large number of Devotees, flocked together at main Manikpur Church on Good Friday service. Vasai is the largest catholic dominated area in India. Thanx Daiji world and media. Beautiful picture of veneration of Christ.
