Bengaluru, Apr 11: The movie, 'March - 22' which gives the message about the importance of water and spreads awareness on this issue, has been completed. The movie team is preparing for an early release of the film. This movie, produced by well-known entrepreneur from Mangaluru based in Dubai, Harish Sherigar, and his wife, Sharmila Sherigar, is directed by veteran director, Kodlu Ramakrishna. This happens to be the first ever film being produced by the couple.
Appearance of widely known NRI businessman settled in Dubai, Padma Shri Dr B R Shetty, in a song sequence in the film is a unique feature of this movie, marking the entrepreneur's acting debut in filmdom. Ananth Nag, Geetha, as well as other senior artistes like Ramesh Bhat, Sharat Lohitashwa, Ashish Vidyarthi, Jai Jagadeesh, Vinaya Prasad, Padmaja Rao and others form the cast of this film.
Aryavardhan and Kiran Raj are the male leads in this film, in which Maghashtre and Deepthi Shetty have taken the role of heroines. The film team interacted with the media to share information about the movie and their experiences, as its shooting has been completed.
Director, Kodlu Ramakrishna, revealed that this happens to be his 26th film. "I had earlier said that Ananth Nag and Laxmi will be appearing as a couple in this film, but Laxmi could not act in the movie on account of some reasons. Another veteran actor, Geetha, has taken her place in the film. Laxmi has expressed confidence of appearing with Ananth Nag in films in the future. The shooting of this film has been completed. We have made an effort to show importance of water in this film. I am confident that the film has come off very well," he stated.
Wanted to give good message to society - Harish Sherigar
Harish Sherigar of Acme Movies International, who has produced this film, is an accomplished singer too. He revealed to the media that he went into film making by accident "I was impressed by the story related by the director. Therefore, I produced this film with the spceific aim of delivering an important message to the society. March 22 happens to be International Day of Water, and therefore we have chosen this title for the film. Although we have found ourselves with restrictions like caste and religion, outside our homes, we are all one. We plan to release this film during June this year," he explained, and sought cooperation and support from everyone.
B R Shetty spends five hours for five-minute scene
Entrepreneur, B R Shetty, speaking after releasing the pen bearing 'March-22' title on the occasion, said that he had to shoot for five hours to complete a five-minute sequence in the movie. He said acting is a chellenging task, and expressed gratefulness for the efforts being put in by artistes. Reminiscing his past, B R Shetty said he had raised loan to build a house in 1973 and then went to desert land, United Arab Emirates, to clear this loan.
He said that the subject of this film is very relevant to the current period where water has emerged as most important issue ever. He felt that everyone should gain and spread knowledge about water conservation.
This happens to be the 500th film for senior actor, Ramesh Bhat. Bhat said that he is elated at having acted in a film that has a very important message for the society. Sharat Lohitashwa said he has donned the role of a petty politician in the film, and asked people to see the movie to find out for themselves what he does there.
Padmaja Rao said the film has so much content that everyone connected with the film can organize separate press meets. Actor, Aryavardhan, said that the presence of senior actors in the film came as an inspiration for the younger ones. He said the experience felt like a school for the young artistes.
