Mangalore, Mar 16: The Mangalore Catholic Co-operative bank (MCC) elections get's a huge response for the first time. Huge masses of the bank's shareholders have paid a visit to Milagres Junior College to cast their votes here at the election venue.
Sources inform that for the first time such a huge response has been witnessed from the shareholders at the polling booth who gathered there to cast their vote. Earlier election fever was restricted only to Mangalore city, now it has spread all over to Puttur, Karkala, Panambur, Kinigoli, Madanthyar and Miyar.
Five years ago around 3,000 shareholders had cast their votes for the election of the board of directors. This time around 4,500 shareholders are expected to cast their votes.
As per initial reports, already 1,155 votes have been cast, informed Janardan the returning officer.
