Kundapur, Apr 5: Government employees against the attempt to murder the deputy commissioner during a raid on illegal sand mining continued their protests till Tuesday, April 4.

Kundapur taluk office was completely closed. No work was performed. The workers had curtailed their work on Monday, April 3, and resorted to protests.

Workers in the department of revenue decided to take paid leave.  As common people did not know about the protest, they faced inconveniences. They had to return after reading the details on the banner. Some had come for RTC from distant Shirooru. A woman had come to get her cheque signed but had to return.

“The assault on the DC is condemnable. But the protests are wrong. Many have already gone back. Kundapur taluk includes Shirur, Madamakki and other distant gramas”, said social activist Kishore Kumar.
