M'luru: Newly-built hall at Guardian Angel Church in Angelore inaugurated

Mangaluru, Apr 4: The inaugural function and blessing of the newly constructed church hall of Guardian Angel Church, Angelore took place here on Tuesday, April 4.

Bishop of Mangaluru, Fr Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza blessed the new hall and invoked God's blessings with prayers. Oscar Fernandes, member of Rajya Sabha, the chief guest, inaugurated the church hall.

Speaking on the occasion, Oscar Fernandes praised the development of Angelore parish under parish priest Fr Mathew Vas, and his contribution to the parishes that he served earlier.


J R Lobo, MLA, Mangaluru South said, "The aid by the state government has been used at the right time. The aid has been used well by the Christian community."

Fr Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza who presided over the function said, "The new community hall should be used for a good cause. It should strengthen the unity of the parishioners."

Engineer Lawrence Coutinho, contractor Richard Rodrigues, Lancy Monteiro and Daya Victor Lobo were felicitated on occasion.

Earlier, Fr Mathew Vas welcomed the gathering. Juliana Mascarenhas delivered the vote of thanks.

The new hall has a capacity of 550 people. It has all modern amenities along with a central air conditioning system.

Blossom Fernandes, Fr James D'souza, parish priest of Valencia Church, M A Gafoor, chairman of Karnataka State Minorities Development Corporation, Keshava M, corporator of Maroli ward, Sr Matilda Monterio, provincial superior of Sisters of Charity, Fr Rahul D’Souza, assistant parish priest, Roshan Patrao, vice-president, and Dora Rodrigues, secretary were present.
