Mysore, Mar 12: Pushpashrama, the Infant Jesus shrine over here is well known for its manifold socio-spiritual activities. To mark the Lenten season, a three-day retreat was organized on March 7, 8 and 9. The preacher at this retreat was the noted preacher  Dr D Jayanand who along with his team conducted the proceedings. The retreat was well attended, with people here experiencing the power of the 'Holy Spirit.' Many people over here are understood to have received healing.

According to schedule, on Sunday, March 9 at 6.30 pm Pushpashrama organized the “Christana Mahatme” which is  a Bharatanatyam programme. Over 40 artists from Sri. Ganesha Sangeetha Nratyalaya kept the audience spell-bound with their performance for over two hours. The team was headed by Arati Arun.  Rev. Dr. Thomas A.Vazhapilly, city bishop presided over the programme.
 

The city team of Konkani singers who participated in the Konkani Nirantari, which went on to gain an entry into the Guiness World Book of Records were awarded merit certificates. 38 singers led by Fr. Wilfred Rodrigues, the choir Master and Mrs, all also received certificates from the bishop of Mysore. The bishop appreciated the Pushpashrama for its noteworthy efforts towards inter-religious harmony and social welfare.
