Dr Geralyn Pinto's Creative Writing Sparkles at Unisun Contest

Mangalore, Mar 12: Dr Geralyn Pinto, a senior lecturer of English at St Agnes College, Mangalore, earned a 'Special Mention' in two categories of fiction from the judges at the Unisun Creative Writing Contest, 2007.

The stories that won her accolades are "No Talking after Lights Out" in the Short Fiction section and "Angel Gabriel" for Children's Fiction. Both will be published by Unisun.

Two other stories of hers,  "Chompakali" and "Lights" , will be featured in Unisun's forthcoming anthology of tales of the supernatural and paranormal.

Geralyn Pinto, who was awarded her doctoral degree three years ago, also presented a research paper titled "The De-Elitization of History in Amitav Ghosh's "In an Antique Land"" at an international conference on Commonwealth Literature in Vancouver, Canada in August, 2007.
