Mangalore, Mar 11: "Nursing is a noble and respectable profession where experience is the greatest learning," opined Loredana Korah, director of St Ann's college of nursing.
Korah was speaking at the graduation day function of the Yenepoya Nursing College, which was held at its auditorium in Derlakatte near here recently.
Elaborating on the field of nursing and the motivating factors she informed that professionals in the nursing field have ample opportunities throughout the world. Nurses according to her should extend commendable service to the patients with self-respect, motivation and dedication.
The function was presided over by Y Abdulla Kunhi, chairman of the Islamic Academy of Education who in his presidential speech said that care, compassion and sacrifice are the watchwords in nursing profession. He opined "Nurses are the vital link between doctors and patients."
Present on the occasion were college director Prof P C M Kunhi, Islamic Academy of Education secretary Dr Akthar Hussain, Yenepoya Medical college principal Dr R N Sujeer, Yenepoya Dental college principal Dr B H Sripathi Rao and principal Prof Susan Anand.
Also on the occasion Nishan Daniel and Jinu Thomas, nursing students of 2002 batch and 2003 batch respectively were honoured with the best outgoing students award.
