Udupi: Direct phone in programme to complain about public grievances held

Udupi, Mar 28: Deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis successfully presided over a direct phone in programme on March 27 to listen to public grievances and provide solutions. 44 complaints were heard in the programme held at the office of the deputy commissioner from 10 am to 11 am. One of the complaints was pertaining to Dakshina Kannada district.

Udupi district administration has also added public grievances link in its official website for public complaints. "Priority is given to resolve the problems of the citizens," said the DC. "Separate user ids and passwords are provided to different departments so that the complaints can be submitted to the concerned officials.

Citizens of the district in the phone in programme complained about drinking water, revenue department problems, crematorium, crusher problem, BSNL phone problems, deteriorating health due to dust in Byndoor and requested to preserve the dam constructed for the lake in Uppunda, Byndoor. They also drew the attention of the DC regarding non-distribution of Tasteek of temple priest in Chantaru and problems of scarcity of water in schools due to digging of borewell at Katpadi. Other complaints heard in the programme were plying of old buses in Kundapur rural area, cleaning of Matadakere lake, illegal sand mining, demands for title deeds, footpath, safety of girls, gambling, disposal of waste etc.

Officials of all the departments were present at the programme.
