Mangaluru: Year-old murder attempt case - four held

Mangaluru, Mar 27: In connection with the murder attempt on Prakash Poojary, resident of Jokatte Kodikere near Suratkal, which had taken place about a year back, personnel of the city crime branch here have arrested four persons.

The arrested accused are Naufal Basheer (42) from Katipalla, Abdul Nasir (30), resident of Kunjathbail, Muhammed Shabbir (21) from Pudu in Bantwal taluk, and Mohammed Shabbir (31) from Suratkal Iddya. After arresting them from Jokatte Road, a motor bike and a cellphone were confiscated by their possession. The arrested accused were given to the custody of Suratkal station officials.

Nikhil, Bharat and Arjun had attacked Ansar near Kulaigudde on February 19, 2016. To avenge this attack, the accused reportedly came in two motor bikes and intercepted Prakash Poojary when he was going to a shop near Kalavaru near here on February  21, 2016 and launched murderous attack on him. He had suffered serious injuries in this incident. Out of the accused, Muhammed Shabbir already faces a case of posing life threat to a person within Suratkal police limits.

City crime branch inspector, Sunil Y Naik and police sub-inspector, Shyam Sundar along with other personnel were involved this this raid.
