Mangaluru Mar 25:The movie 'Ondhu Motteya Kathe' that will be the only Sandalwood movie to make rounds in the New York Film Festival this year, will cast new talent from Mangaluru Amrutha Nayak, Shreya Anchan, Prakash, VJ Vineeth and others in prominent roles. Director of the movie Raj B Shetty, will be seen playing the lead in the film.
Director Pawan Kumar who is popular for his Kannada movie Lucia in 2013 and U-Turn, last year is reputated for taking Kannada films to greater heights with his unique concepts. Impressed by Raj B Shetty's directorial marvel 'Ondhu Motteya Kathe', Pawan decided to produce the movie that the Rang fame actor Suhan Prasad has been involved in producing.
Pawan Kumar's support has only boosted the movie crew further.
Director Raj B Shetty said, "We are happy after director Pawan Kumar came forward to produce our movie. Our hard work of past two years is paying off. The credit goes to the entire crew. This film is a complete comedy-drama. The entire crew is from Mangaluru. Suhan Prasad has produced this movie. Ondhu Motteya Kathe will be premiered at the New York Film Festival on May 6 and will be the only Kannada movie at the festival."
"We have two alternative thereafter to bring the movie to Karnataka. First, to release it after reviewing it based on suggestions at the premeire at film festival, and release it in a week's time in Karnataka. Second, is to release it in the US and organise a city tour in the US, promoting the film there, and then releasing it in Karnataka by May or June.
"After we completed the movie we were looking for a distributor. We showed our movie to one of our freind, Harish Mallya, a voracious film viewer and he liked the movie. We then approached Pawan Kumar who too appreciated the movie and intended to join the film crew as a producer," Raj said.
Pawan Kumar is always known for his unique thinking and concept in his directorial approach which he has proved in his two movies. If Pawan Kumar liked the movie, it indicates there is something in the movie that resonated with his outlook. Pawan broke the news of this film through his Twitter account, "The new film produced by Pawan Kumar Studios… ready for release in May 2017. A comedy drama genre film by extremely talented newbies" he tweeted.
