Mangaluru, Mar 23: The audio release of Tulu film 'Arjun Weds Amrutha' was held at a grand function at Town Hall on March 18. BJP leader Nagraj Shetty released the audio which contains seven songs composed by Suma LN Shaashtry.
Urging directors and producers to maintain quality while making movies, Nagaraj Shetty said, "Tulu movies should showcase our rich culture, language, tradition and other good features of Tulunadu. A good number of Tulu movies are being released in Dakshina Kannada and other parts of Karnataka which is a good sign for coastalwood".
For the first time in the history of Tulu films, a female composer, Suma LN Shaashtry has composed the music for 'Arjun Weds Amrutha'. TV9 program director Rajesh Shetty and Damodar Dandole have penned the lyrics. Rajesh Krishnan, Hemanth, L N Shaashtry, Supriya and Suma have lent their voice to the songs.
The film is a love story with an emotional subject and dash of comedy. Produced under the banner Bedra 9 Creations by Dinesh Mallya, Kiran B N, Venkatesh Kamath and Akshatha Kamath, the film has been directed by Raghu Shetty. He has written the story, dialougues and screenplay as well. Jnanesh Matad has handled the editing and Jagannath Shetty Bala has done the publicity work. Anand Sundaresh is the cinematographer and the choreography is by Kiran and Tarunraj. 'Arjun weds Amrutha' has been shot across Mangaluru.
'Nirel' and 'Dhand' fame Anoop Sagar and Aradhya Shetty play the title characters of Arjun and Amrutha respectively. Naveen D Padil will be seen in a prominent role in the film. Aravind Bolar, Bojraaj Vamanjoor, Umesh Mijar, Sandeep Shetty Maanibettu, Prasanna Shetty, Sathish Bandale, Pavithra Shetty, Harini Karkala, Ramesh Rai, Sudhir Raj and RJ Anurag will be seen in supporting roles. The movie completed its dubbing work Daijiworld Audio Visual Studio and is expected to release on May 19.
The movie crew also felicitated the music director, lyrics writers and the choregraphers on the ocassion. A colorful cultural programme followed the audio release event.
Lead actors Anoop Sagar and Aradhya Shetty, MIFT College chief M G Hegde, Kishore D Shetty, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, Prakash Pandeshwar, Dinesh Mallya and others were present.
