Puttur: Two held, two blackbuck pelts recovered

Puttur, Mar 23: Officials of the forest department conducted a raid on Wednesday March 23 and recovered two blackbuck pelts from two persons who were holding them illegally. The two accused who were trying to sell the pelts, were taken into custody.

The raid was conducted at Piligunda in Aryapu village in the taluk on the basis of reliable information. The accused, who were standing near a bus stand with the aim of finding intending buyers for the pelts, were taken into custody by the officials after conducting search.

The arrested accused have been identified as Anjaneya, son of Ramanna from Gunnal in Yalaburga taluk in Koppal district, and Palakshappa, son of Lakshmanna Mukkannavar.

The raid was conducted by additional acting police sub-inspector of forest police mobile squad, Harish N P, and other staff.
