United Struggle Essential against Oppression on Women: Sara

Mangalore, Mar 9: “Despite women are empowered educationally, economically and socially, the oppression on them still goes on unabated. Hence this calls for the society to collectively stage struggle in order to alleviate the sufferings of innocent women,” said Sara Aboobaker, columnist.
Sara was speaking at the inaugural of ‘Women Day’ programme which was held at Dakshina Kannada (DK) district Congress office, on Saturday March 8.
Advocate, Asha Nayak, while speaking as resource person on the topic ‘the role of women in politics and women laws’, she commended that women are faring well in political scenario at the prevailing situation in the country. Moreover, it was for the better of women to be empowered with legal knowledge, to stem the oppression on entire women fraternity.
The programme was presided over by Victoria Albuquerque while Ramanath Rai, president of DK district Congress was the chief guest present at the occasion.
Sara Abubaker, renowned columnist and crusader of women rights was felicitated at the same occasion.
Mamata D S Gatti, president of DK district women Congress, Shakila R Prasad, vice president and office bearers were present at the occasion.
