About Roshow
Roshow is Averyl Rodrigues' cookery show, that week after week presents delicious recipes for homemakers and gourmets. The name 'Roshow' is derived from the Konkani word 'Roso' which, like its Persian counterpart Rasoi, means a kitchen. Yet not quite like the ones these days, the Roso, was a makeshift kitchen specifically designed to cater to the guests at a wedding, in the yesteryears.
The show that connects one to the traditional past, also accommodates seasonal, continental and regional recipes. Basic dishes that use minimum oil, are healthy to eat and quick to cook are prepared step-by-step during the show.
The show also has a YouTube channel 'The Roshow - Daiji Kitchen' in English, with videos of episodes telecast on Daijiworld 24x7.
Averyl Rodrigues
A management and accounts professional in the past, Averyl began her delightful journey as an editor of the recipe column on daijiworld.com in 2004.
On her inspiration for Roshow, Averyl says, "People enjoyed my recipes on the blog and appreciated it and that flamed my enthusiasm for cooking, and the show."
Beginning 2014, her cookery show "The Roshow" is being telecasted on daijiworldTV24*7 on every Sunday at 11.30 am, with 3 repeat shows throughout the week.
Her YouTube channel 'The Roshow - Daiji Kitchen' is quite popular among food lovers globally.
In March 2015 she won 'Swad Kaju Ka' cookery contest organised by Cashew Growers Association in Mangaluru.
She was the finalist of national-level contest 'Bring Your Tastiest Bowl' conducted by Quaker India, judged by celebrity chef Vikas Khanna in the month of October 2016 at Taj Palace, New Delhi.
Averyl who has held cooking classes for children in October for the past two years looks forward to hosting workshops for basic and healthy recipes, on public demand.
A question that's on everyone's mind, to a culinary host, is 'how do you get the perfect recipe that is palatable to everyone?' Averyl Rodrigues explains the art of cooking. "Cooking is an art. One that goes hand in hand with patience. To strike the right recipe, I use a fair amount of 'trial and error'. When it comes to my own recipes, I attempt at moderation of sweet and spicy to cater to all tastebuds. Of course, there are a wonderful number of recipes that have also been contributed by my blog readers, which I use in my show. And I'm always thankful to my readers for their support, especially during the times I participated in culinary competitions."
