Udupi: 11-year-old killed by car while crossing road at Kukkikatte

Udupi, Mar 17: In a tragic incident, an 11-year-old girl died in front of her parents' eyes after a car rammed into her at Kukkikatte here on Thursday, March 16.

The deceased has been identified as Kshama, daughter of Keerthikumar and Bharathi, residents of Gundibail, Atrady.

The parents along with daughter Kshama and son Kishan had just returned from a wedding in Manipal when the accident took place.

They parked their car on the road opposite Keerthikumar's sister's house in Kukkikatte. Just as they were getting out, Kshama in her excitement pulled away her hand from her parents grip and ran to cross the road.

At that moment, a car moving towards Udupi hit Kshama, killing her on the spot.

A case has been registered in Udupi traffic police station.
