Mangaluru, Mar 16: MLA Mohiudeen Bawa, Mangaluru north constituency on Thursday, March 16, thanked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on behalf of citizens of Dakshina Kannada for his people friendly budget and called it as a bumper budget for the people of the district.
Addressing mediapersons at his office he said, "CM Siddaramaiah has accepted all our major demands put forth before the budget. He has allocated funds in the budget to implement the projects. It will give new impetus to various development works which are already in progress accross the district".
"Fishermen are the true soldiers of coastal Karnataka. Especially or Mogaveera community. Their long time dream of having a fishing corporation has been realised in this budget. The minorities too have been given equal importance this time. Funds have been allocated for Byari Adhyana Kendra which a good news for the byari community. We have already requested that the research centre should be named after prominent Kannada poet, journalist, freedom fighter, politician and a Kannada activist late B M Idinabba. Besides this, funds have been allocated for road and airport development, Haj Bhavan, fishing jetty and smart city project. Formation of taluks which had been promised by the goverment have also been fulfilled. In all, this budget is a bumper budget for the people of Dakshina Kannada," he added.
He further informed that he will visit homes of 15 beneficiaries and distribute cheques worth Rs 7,13,616 under Chief Minister's Relief Fund for medical expenses.
Basheer Ahmad, Harish, Varun, Kumar Mendan, Anand Amin and Mohammad Ali were present.
