D'gere: Shaliya Maddas Secures Twin Gold Medals at Varsity-level

Davanagere, Mar 5: A student of University B D T College of Engineering has created history by grabbing twin gold medals.

Born to Khaja Maddas Mohiuddeen and Malika Khaja, Shaliya Khwaja Maddas, a simple girl from Koppa, heart of Malnad, not far from the birthplace of Kuvempu has made everybody proud with her stupendous achievement at the varsity-level.

Shaliya was studying in the UBDT College of Engineering in the Computer Science Engeneering Section. (2003-2007) She has secured the first rank with  highest marks in the last exams and secured a gold medal.  A second gold medal is awarded as she is the only girl student in all seven categories of the college securing highest marks.

University BDT College of Engineering, Davanagere, is affiliated to Kuvempu University.

The gold medals were awarded to the students on Friday February  22 at Gnanasahyadri, Shankaraghatta in Shimoga district.

Shaliya is at present working with Mindtree Ltd. Bangalore.
