Mangaluru, Mar 8: A complaint filed in Bunder police station here on Monday March 6 stated that a girl student studying in the ninth standard of a school at Mannagudda in the city had been kidnapped. The complainants said that four unidentified people who were travelling in a Maruti Omni car had abducted her.
The girl hails from Bengaluru. She attends tuition classes run by an institution near car street here. It is said that on Monday, the institution where she attends tuition classes had received a call, stating that the student was required to attend oral examination in her school. The institution then asked the girl to attend the said examination and sent her away, but it is said she did not reach the school. She could not be contacted.
Thereafter, the tutorial staff went to Bunder police station to file missing complaint. During this period, the student called them over cell phone, and told them that four persons who came in Maruti Omni car had abducted her from near Gurji Circle at Mannagudda. She said that her abductors used a spray to make her unconscious before dropping her off somewhere else. She gave the details of the spot from where she had made the call.
Bunder police, based on this information, rescued the girl from near Kadri Park in the city, it is gathered. They thereafter transferred the case to Barke station, within the jurisdiction of which the said crime had taken place. The case is now being investigated by Barke police.
