Mangaluru, Mar 4: One of the two bodies of men found in a decomposed state in an under-construction multi-storied building at Kudkorigudde, Kanknady bypass, on February 15 stands identified.
It has now been established that one of these two bodies belonged to Sanjay Kodekar (26) from Mundgod in Uttara Kannada district. Policemen said that the grandmother of Kodekar, who identified the body, claimed it and took it away with her. The other body remains to be identified.
The police have found out that Kodekar, who used to stay at the residence of his grandmother at Karwar, was a liquor addict. He often picked up fights with people in drunken state. Frustrated by his behaviour, his wife had deserted him, and as such, Sanjay used to move from one place to the other like a nomad.
People living in Kannady Pumpwell surroundings had felt on February 15 that foul smell was emanating from an under-construction multi-storied building. Thereafter, Kadri police were alerted. The police personnel and locals went above the building to find two decomposed bodies of men in the sixth floor. On the face of it, the police had guessed that both of them could have been murdered.
Kadri police inspector,Maruti Nayak, is investigating the case.
