Mangaluru: Countdown begins for ‘Tum Vhorto Dhonea’ Biblical Drama on March 5

Media release

Mangaluru, Mar 3: ‘Tum Vhorto Dhonea’ written and produced by Richie John Pais and directed by Arthur Rasquinha will be staged at Don Bosco Hall in Mangaluru on Sunday, March 5 at 6.00 pm. Lot of interest has been shown by drama lovers as the cast and crew of this drama are well experienced in their respective fields.

Some years back Biblical Konkani dramas were presented every year especially during Lent season. For quite a few years, they became rare. But some Konkani dramatists are trying hard to keep the tradition alive with all the difficulties they face in staging the Biblical dramas. Richie John Pais is one among them.

‘Tum Vhorto Dhonea’ (Lord you are great) story is based on the book of Job in the Old Testament. Job Patriarch, the protagonist of the drama, is known for his unshakable faith. He does not lose his faith in his Creator in spite of losing all his wealth and children.

Richie John Pais says that Job’s life and the lesson we learn from his life are universal in nature and apply to all the time, not only to the Biblical time alone.

"We have a Job Patriarch in every person. God never sends misery to people. He allows the evil to surround human beings for the greater glory. Evil is part of life which cannot be eliminated completely. But it can always be managed the way Job Patriarch did. We can always live a contented life after understanding the true meaning of life here on earth as well as thereafter.” says the author speaking about the theme of drama.

The drama has 10 songs, composed by Richie John Pais and tuned by Fr Walter D’Souza and Fr Maxim D’Souza. Denzil Pereira has provided the music for the songs while Ashith Pinto is the music director of the drama with his special composition of Biblical music. Jerome Moras is the assistant director of the drama while Jerald Concessao is the stage manager.

For the first time in Konkani drama, LED screen is used with special graphics created by Narayan Raj to give a better feel of Biblical times.

Jeevan Vas, Nishma D’Souza, Usha Fernandes, Stany Machado, Nigel Pereira, Alwyn Tauro, Wilson Lobo, Steven Fernandes, Joachim Monteiro, Vincy Pinto, Roshan Lobo, Victor Rasquinha, Kevin D’Souza, Nolan Furtado, Lionel D’Souza, Preetham Monteiro, Neil Coelho, MacLean D’Souza, Stany Fernandes, Sean Fernandes, Derrick, Nia Pais, Avril D’Souza, Luvina Noronha and others are acting.

Daijworld is the media partner and Rahul Advertisers is publicity partner for the drama.
