Karkala, Mar 2: “I have received new energy after repeated visits to Karvalu Mahavishnumoorthi temple. I am fortunate to have the vision of the deity since the last nine years. The second test of Border–Gavascar trophy will be held in Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru and a new voice will be heard during the commentary,” said former cricketer of the national team hailing from Karkala, Ravi Shastri.
He visited Kervalu Vishnumoorthi temple on Wednesday afternoon March 1 at 12 pm and spoke to reporters after completing puja.
“Trust in the Almighty is necessary for obtaining satisfaction in life. I have kept the practice of visiting important temples of undivided Dakshina Kannada district. I will be visiting Kolluru temple, staying in Manipal tonight and paying a visit to Subrahmanya deity on Thursday before going to Bengaluru,” he said.
The management of the temple and villagers welcomed Ravi Shastri with a garland and chanting of slogans.
He offered his family deity snake god panchamritha abhishekha and flowers to Mahavishnumoorthi deity. Special collective lunch was arranged in the temple premises. He sat down and ate lunch like others and continued his journey to Udupi.
