Mangaluru, Mar 1: Sandalwood's 'Century Star' Shiva Rajkumar on Wednesday March 1 called for unity among Kannadigas on drought and other issues.
He was speaking to reporters during his visit to the city to attend the muhurat of album recording of the movie 'Katapadi Katappa' at CADD studio in Balmatta here.
"We visit a drought-hit place only after is it affected. This should not be the case. We need to unite on all issues, including drought. As people of Karnataka, we are not restricted to any one place, we belong to the entire state. Drought may hit Mangaluru, Mandya or any other place like Koppal or north Karnataka region. We need to unite and find a solution," he entreated.
"I love Mangaluru as my father (Dr Rajkumar) too used to visit this city often and had a close association with it. I often visit the temples here," he added.
Shiva Rajkumar attended the muhurat of the recording of songs for the movie 'Katpadi Katappa' being made by well-known choreographer Rajesh Brahmavar. The movie is being directed by Kenja Chethan Shetty.
Shiva played a song to inaugurate the recording at CADD studio.
Regional movie producers honoured the mega star on the occasion.
Vijaykumar Kodialbail, Prakash Pandeshwar, Devdas Kapikad, Arvind Bolar, Rajesh Brahmavar and CADD Media's Dinesh Rao were present.
Shiva Rajkumar then left for a temple in Bantwal. In the evening, he will be attending a programme at NIT-K, Suratkal.
