Mangalore, Feb 28: South Kanara-Udupi District Bidi Contractors Union (SKUDBCU), HMS will hold 'Conference 2008' of two districts bidi contractors from Sunday March 2 to Monday March 3 at Town Hall here, informed Mohammed Raffi, working president of SKUDBCU here at a press conference on Thursday February 28.
The conference will be inaugurated by Lokayukta justice N Santhosh Hegde while deputy labour commissioner Vasanth Kumar N Hittanagi will preside. M Maheshwara Rao, deputy commissioner of DK district and A M Prasad, IGP (western range) will be the chief guests, he informed.
President of zilla panchayat Sucharitha Shetty K P, mayor Ganesh Hosabettu, former state transport minister B Ramanath Rai, former MLA of Ullal U T Khadar and others will be the chief guests, Raffi detailed.
Dignitaries across political lines are expected to be present. The conference will also provide a platform where problems and doubts associated with contractors can be discussed, he specified.
Other office bearers of SKUDBCU were present at the press conference.
