Mangaluru, Feb 27: At the Sauharda (harmony) rally organized here on Sunday February 26 that was meant to create an environment of harmony in coastal Karnataka, slogans which are meant to do exactly the opposite were reportedly raised. Most of the slogans with overtones of vengeance were raised in Malayalam by youngsters who had come from Kerala to attend this rally, it is gathered.

The video clippings now making the rounds through WhatsApp, Facebook etc give rise to doubts whether the rally was meant to bring peace or whip up emotions. Because, when translated, some of the slogans address BJP activists as mentally deranged and RSS workers as dogs. "Where are you Nalin Kumar? You said you would stop us. Where are you now? Are you afraid?" was another piece of video. In some slogans, Prime Minister Modi has been compared to dog. Lot of bad words were mouthed against MP, Nalin Kumar, BJP leader from Kasargod, Surendran, and Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. There are video clips which invite Sangh activists who claimed of stopping Pinarayi Vijayan, who the sloganeers say is a tiger cub from Kannur. "We will bury you six feet under the earth. We will break your limbs and play 'Kolata' with them," were some other slogan as per report.

However, Kannadigas did not raise such provocative slogans, as per information received. At the same time, city police commissioner, Chandra Sekhar, said he has not come across any provocative slogans or words. It is gathered that he is now busy preparing a report on quantum of loss during the bandh call and who is to be held responsible for crores of rupees lost because of the bandh call.

Illegal bandh was called by sangh parivar and they should be held responsible for loss of crores of rupees due to it. Bandh was not required and it was illegal. Police should arrest the leaders of the organisations which did call for Bandh and should be warned of arrest in case they repeat it in the future.
