Mangalore, Feb 28: 'Attitude to serve' needs to be genuine and not developed on someone's compulsion, opined Fr Francis Lewis, director of Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education.
He was addressing the gathering at NSS Day celebrations organized by the NSS unit of SDM Law College and Centre for Post Graduate Studies in Law, held at the college auditorium here on Wednesday February 27.
True service is the one which leads to progress in the society. One who wants to render service should focus on one's inner growth, Lewis suggested.
One should find happiness in whatever one does, provided he is totally committed to work or activity he is involved in, said Dr B K Ravindra, principal of the SDM Law College, in his presidential address.
He also advised the students to be involved in selfless service without expecting any rewards. He was also of the view that no one should fall prey to egoism but make use of opportunities so as to work better.
Naresh Malligemadu, NSS programme officer and Vijeth were present. Sandhini, NSS unit leader proposed the vote of thanks.
