Udupi, Feb 23: Dr Kudlu Krishna Prasad of Prasad Netralaya here was elected as a member of the scientific committee of All India Ophthalmological Society, the election for which was held recently. His election was officially announced at the 75th national convention of All India Ophthalmological Society held at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Krishna Prasad happens to be the lone member to have been elected for this committee from Karnataka. His term of office will be of three years duration.
All India Ophthalmological Society, which was formed in 1930, has a membership of 19,300. It is the largest organisation of ophthalmologists and is placed second in the world. Its scientific committee has the important role of organising national level scientific conferences, programmes to exchange of information, workshops to treat people, revise and shape new rules and regulations.
