Mangalore, Feb 26: Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) president K N a r a s i m h a Prabhu on Monday asserted that the proposed air cargo terminal at Bajpe airport would provide the much-needed boost for the agro industry, particularly the floriculture industry, here.
He was delivering the keynote address after inaugurating ‘Matrix 08’, a week-long deliberation on international business at Srinivas Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) here.
Calling students to develop a positive work culture and spirit of entrepreneurship, Prabhu said that China scored over India in these aspects.
Though India’s strengths were democratic and pro-active government for foreign investment, proficiency of English language, technically trained manpower and younger workforce, China had a better work culture and entrepreneurship.
The adoption of Special Economic Zones by China also helped fuel industrial growth, he added.
In his presidential remarks,
S r i n iva s Rao, president, A Shama Rao Foundation, said that despite adverse conditions like rising oil prices and rupee appreciation against the dollar, Indian firms had been cost-competitive.
