Bengaluru, Feb 20: Much-acclaimed Kannada film director, A M R Ramesh, is planning to come out with a multi-lingual film, "Aaspota", on the Rajiv Gandhi assassination.
Ramesh has directed some of the most action-packed Kannada films like "Minchina Ota", "Attahasa", "Police Quarters", and "Cyanide".
The film likely to begin with shooting in Sri Lanka from April 19 is expected to be also produced in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
A 12-day shooting has been planned in Sri Lanka while it is proposed to be shot in Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru as well.
Karthikeyan, the retired director of CBI, who investigated the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, has been sounded out for help in fine-tuning the shooting of scenes and other details.
Ramesh has also met several former activists and leaders of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), who led the agitation for separate homeland. The assassination was planned and executed by the LTTE.
Some of the big names are likely to be roped in to play the roles of Rajiv Gandhi and Karthikeyan besides those of LTTE leaders.
