Udupi, Feb 11: District president of BJP Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde on Friday February 10, chaired a town-level party working committee meeting at town BJP office and alleged that the district in-charge minister has failed in regulating sand scarcity.
Addressing the party workers Mattaru Ratnakar said, “BJP has planned to organize Swacch Bharat campaign, awareness programmes against untouchability and Sahabhojana in order to mark the 154th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.”
“The town BJP has decided to host a programme on February 11 to remember the former BJP leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his one hundred years birth anniversary.”
“The past APMC polls clearly proved the strength of the party and we are confident of winning majority in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.”
Condemning the act of the police personnel at Hejamady, he said, “One of the party workers revealed that MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake is making money by intervening in the tollgate issue. As a result of this, four BJP activists were arrested at night without any clue and were later released. Congress is filing wrong cases and threatening the BJP party workers.”
“The working committee meeting will boost the party image in public. We need to unite and fight the problems found on forms 94C, 94CC and BPL cards.”
Talking about the issue of scarcity of sand in the district, Mattaru said, “No one is taking responsibility of regulating sand mining; neither the district in-charge minister of Udupi nor the district administration authority of Udupi.”
Prabhakar Poojary, town BJP president, presided over the programme.
Kappettu Praveen Shetty, Shreesha Nayak, Uday Kumar Shetty, Dinakar Babu, Kiran Yashpal Suvarna and others were present.
