Udupi: Robbery attempt at jewellery store foiled - culprits flee

Udupi, Feb 9: Four unidentified persons, two men and two women, tried to rob Sri Kamakshi Jewellery Store located on Kemmannu Cross Road in Moodutonse village in the taluk on Tuesday February 7. However, nothing was lost they fled after the owner raised an alarm.

The shop is owned by Madhukar Nayak. Nayak was about to close his shop at about 7.30 pm, when two unidentified women came into the shop and asked to see golden Mangalya chain. After Nayak told them that he had closed the business for the day,the women reportedly went away.

Then two men  came into the shop and asked Nayak to show them silver item worth around Rs 1,500 as they had to gift it to someone. Nayak told them that the shop was closed, after which one of the men jumped over the counter and tightened a kerchief around the face of Nayak. Nayak escaped from his grip and shouted for help. Developing cold feet, both the man and the women ran away.

Thereafter, Nayak filed a robbery attempt case in Malpe police station. The police personnel have begun investigation.

    I am sure they must be having cctv.camera.let them show the pictures of these persons and show them in daily papers.So that any other shops /people can recognize them and be careful if any other shops are in future in their list.
