Udupi, Feb 4: “Congress party will definitely win the upcoming assembly elections with majority and remain for a longer period in the state,” said state minister for urban development, Hajj and Wakf, Roshan Baig while addressing the party workers at Congress Bhavan near Brahmagiri on Friday February 3.
“A committee has been formed in Mangaluru to look after purification of salt water project. The project will help in solving drinking water woes of the city. Commissioners and secretaries of the six smart cities met together. An expert team has arrived from Chennai to enact the project. An effort will be made to purify salt water after discussing with them.” Baig said speaking about water management in state. .
“Drinking water and underground drainage works have been given top priorities in the state. This will be implemented with the support of local bodies like city and town municipalities. Nearly Rs 320 crore has been sanctioned to Udupi for various drinking water projects. Out of which Rs 101.20 crores will be spent for drinking water supply and Rs 185.90 crores for underground drainage work and constructing vented dams. A DPR will be prepared soon on priority.” he added.
“We have 12,000 acres of land at our disposal in KGF at Kolar. The government has decided to develop this land as a model city. This project will benefit the state.” Baig said.
Speaking about demonetisation, he said, “Demonetisation has spoiled the entire economic system. The nation will face severe financial crisis because of this policy. It will affect employment, GDP growth and other economic sectors.”
“Slogans such as ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ are not anyone’s ancestral asset. The leaders are who are challenging the Congress party should learn lesson from the sacrifices made by Congress leaders. Many Congress leaders have sacrificed their lives for the betterment of this country,” Baig concluded.
