Kundapur, Feb 1: A large venomous king cobra was found in the house of Venkataramana Rao at Kamalashile, Car Street here on Wednesday February 1.
The cobra which had come looking for food was hiding in the house. The family members grew frightened at the sight of the serpent, and as news spread, many curious people came to see it.
Krishnamurthy Hebbar of the forest department, Kamalashile Sri Brahmi Durgaparameshwari Temple priest Raghavendra Jogi and locals helped in catching the snake and taking it to a sanctuary.
The cobra was 13 feet long and weighed 12 kg. Cobra of this size is said to be rare here.
