Mangaluru, Feb 1: Milagres and Falnir Ward Residents Welfare Association, Attavara released the first issue of their in-house news letter 'Reach' and also launched the website of the association for the benefits of the residents of these two wards.
The function began with a prayer dance by students of Roshni Nilaya.
B Dharmana Naik, president, welcomed the dignitaries and the participants. C A Shenoy, vice-president of the association gave a brief introduction about the news letter and the website.
MLA J R Lobo, Mangaluru south, released the news letter. Jacintha Vijaya Alfred, former mayor and corporator launched the website. Abdul Ravoof, corporator was the chief guest. Naik presided over the programme.
Lobo complemented the association for having done good work in getting service from the city corporation and other agencies and also appreciated for having brought out the news letter for the benefit of the residents. He also stated that the services and the suggestion of the association is essential for the implementation of the smart city project.
On the occasion, the association honoured corporators Jacintha Vijaya Alfred and Abdul Ravoof for their excellent work in the two wards. Selma D'Souza, secretary of the association, spoke about the various works done by Jacintha. CA Shenoy spoke about the work done by Abdul Ravoof.
Jacintha and Ravoof complemented the association for their co-operation and guidance to carry out development works in the two wards. Both of them stated that majority of the demands placed before them have been fulfilled and said that they will continue to carry out the works.
Naik, president of the association complemented corporators Jacintha and Abdul Ravoof for the excellent work carried out in the two wards under the leadership and guidance of MLA Lobo.
The students of Roshni Nilaya under the leadership of Sr Colin presented a dance performance conveying the message of unity among different religions to live in peace and harmony. Khalid, a member, entertained the audience by singing old melodious Hindi songs.
Shailaja R Naik, treasurer; J F D'Souza, convener; Mohammad Rafique, joint secretary and others were present on the occasion.
