Mangalore, Feb 15: As many as 48,945 names have been deleted from the revised draft of voters' list of the taluk which was released here on Thursday February 14.
Addressing a press conference, tahsildar Raju Mogaveer informed that inclusion and deletion of names for the 489 booths coming under the jurisdiction of taluk office will be done from Monday February 18 to Friday February 22. The final electoral roll will be made public on March 10 after screening the voters list till February 26.
Giving details on the revised voters' list, he said that out of the 48,945 deleted names, 7,000 are from Bantwal constituency, 11,633 from Ullal constituency, 14,782 from Suratkal constituency and 15,530 from Moodbidri constituency. The number of names included so far in the list is 751 in Bantwal constituency, 1,551 in Ullal constituency, 2052 names in Suratkal constituency and 1,326 names in Moodbidri constituency.
Elaborating on the polling booths in each constituency, Mogaveer said that Bantwal has 72 polling booths while Ullal has 140. There are 155 booths in Suratkal and 122 in Moodbidri.
There will be one officer for each booth along with 48 nodal officers and six inspection officers.
The list was published after a door-to-door survey by officials from January 11 to 20 and January 22 to 31. The third stage of the house visits will be from Saturday February 16 to Sunday February 24, he informed.
