Kundapur, Jan 29: "We are very lucky to have been born in this great land of rich and colourful history. Swami Vivekananda, who was born in this country, is a role model to all. His principles are universal and relevant for all times," said Chakravarthy Sulibele.
Sulibele was speaking as a main speaker at the public function ‘Viveka Parva’ held to celebrate the 154th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda organized by Samartha Bharatha Byndoor at Byndoor on Saturday, January 28.
Sulibele further said, "Awareness and enlightenment are the special attributes of Swami Vivekananda. His name itself sends the message of knowledge. It is very meaningful to celebrate his birth anniversary while he has provided infinite inspiration to the young generation. The youth should emulate him, embrace patriotism and devote the energy for nation building."
Dr Vaman Shenoy, Saha Sangha Chalak of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh administered vows for people gathered, "We should respond to the needs of the nation and its people. We should change our lives first with the spirit of patriotism. We should not forget the call given by Swami Vivekananda years back which is still valid. We should unite for the sake of the nation. We can only move on the righteous path if we follow the teachings of Vivekananda. Let Viveka Parva play a crucial role in this direction."
Executive committee honorary president Vishweshwara Adiga, office bearers Jayananda Hobalidar, Prasanna Kumar, Pradeep Kumar Shetty, Vijayakumar Kanchikan, Priyadarshini Devadiga, convener Sridhar Bijoor, Bhimesh Kumar, Balakrishna Byndoor were present among others.
Jayananda Hobalidar welcomed. The procession carrying Swami Vivekananda statue started from Byndoor Yadthare ended at Gandhi maidan before the function. Thousands of people from different parts of taluk participated in the procession and Viveka Parva function.
