Bengaluru, Jan 27: JD(S) dissident MLAs, who were expelled from their party for cross voting during the last Rajya Sabha election, are likely to join Congress soon. These 7 JD(S) dissidents are expected to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Vice-president Rahul Gandhi and show their willingness to join the Congress party.

4 of the 7 MLAs met chief minister (CM) Siddaramaiah on Friday evening and held discussion. They have demanded that all of them want Congress party ticket to contest the next Assembly election. It is said that Congress is apprehensive about 2 seats and hence would like to allot only 5 seats. As per sources, Siddaramaiah promised them that all these 7 constituencies will get good grant in the near future, but asked them to meet Sonia and Rahul personally to show their willingness and explain their demands.

Cheluvarayaswamy, after the meeting with CM, said that they only discussed the matter of welfare of their constituencies. “We do not go to any party for tickets. The ticket the people give, is more important than anything to us. That only can guarantee a chance to enter the Assembly. We only discussed the issues concerning our constituencies. We did not talk politics at all.”

He also revealed that NCP chief Sharad Pawar phoned Zameer Ahmed and spoke to him and hence the matter of joining any party is yet to be finalized.

It appears to be they are sold to Congress or else why Gowda is not taking them back?. All parties try to keep their Party Strong but Gowda appears to be putting them out and make party weaker. Many of them will lose in next lections next time. Gowda Has systematically killed his own strong party and allowed congress /BJP to takeover .

Of the turncoats lot, only Zameer Ahmed and Cheluvarayaswamy have some standing amongst local population of their constituencies. Rest got elected only due to efforts and popularity of JD(S), Kumaraswamy and Deve Gowda in their respective seats. Under Congress, they may end up loosing too

Declan, Sidhu did not contest the May 2014 LS polls, nor the RS polls
He was 'nominated' as RS MP under Artistes, Sportsman quota like Sachin Tendulkar, Suesh Gopi, Rekha etc..That too, his nomination was in July 2016
