Mangaluru: Audio of Konkani-Tulu trendsetter film 'Ashem Zalem Kashem' released

Mangaluru, Jan 27: The audio CD of Konkani and Tulu movie, 'Ashem Zalem Kashem? - Incha Aanda Yencha?' was released in a ceremony held at St Joseph's school auditorium in Kulshekar church premises here on Thursday January 26.

Famed Tulu movie star, director and producer, Devadas Kapikad, released the audio CD of the songs of the film. Priest of Holy Cross Church, Kulshekar, Fr Victor Machadio, delivered benedictory address.

MLA, J R Lobo, chief whip in the state legislative council, Ivan D'Souza, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, Roy Castelino, founder of Daijiworld, Walter Nandalike, president of central committee of Catholic Sabha, Anil Lobo, assistant police commissioner of city crime branch, Valentine D'Souza, MD of Namma TV Dr Shivaram Shetty as well as director of Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Fr Ronald D'Souza, participated as guests.

The said film is being produced by Maxim Pereira, Vincent D'Souza and Joe Pereira under the banner of 'Glorious Angelore Productions'. Crew members of the movie were present at the function.

Devadas Kapikad, addressing the gathering, appreciated Maxim Pereira for undertaking the task of making movie in Both Konkani and Tulu, which he felt, is an adventurous feat. He wished Pereira every success in his endeavour. He noted that Tulu movies are getting popular support of late and that Coastalwood films are racing ahead of films made in other languages. Kapikad also noted that artistes from all religions and faiths are working in Tulu films. He urged the people to watch movies made in local languages and wholeheartedly support them.

Producer of the film, Maxim Pereira, welcomed. Leslie Rego compered the programme, Manu Bantwal proposed vote of thanks.


'Ashem Zalem Kashem', a trendsetter

In the realm of coastal cinema, a significant increase in films of various languages is visible. Moreover, of late, Tulu and Konkani films are making the news. These movies have entered into a competition to move ahead of the other. This development shows that the film industry in general is progressing towards better avenues.

'Melody Star' Maxim Pereira under the banner of Glorious Angelore producion, has directed the film and says, "If all goes as planned, the movie is set to be released on April 21."

Film 'Ashem Zalem Kashem', the first Konkani-Tulu movie, is being shot under the Glorious Angelore banner since September, 2016 in attractive tourist spots in Mangaluru, beginning with the picturesque Infant Jesus shrine, atop the hill.

'Ashem Zalem Kashem' is the first film in Coastal wood with a unique combination of suspense and comedy blended in the two native languages, Konkani and Tulu.

Veteran dramatist John Permannur has written the screenplay and dialogues, and William Pinto Padarengi has written Tulu script and the comedy scenes in line with the story.

RJ Roopesh pairs opposite Cynol Menezes. The movie cast is full bright young talent, including Nashibacho Khell fame Ranjita Lewis, Jennifer Fernandes, Rohan D'souza, Nikith Padil play important roles in the movie. Young Colin Mascarenhas will make an appearance as a child artiste. Judith Anjelore plays a mother in the movie.

"I am not a Konkani speaker. I picked up the language to some extent during the shoot and did the dubbing myself. The movie has emerged beautifully, and this is an unconventional movie for Coastalwood," said lead actor RJ Roopesh.

Jeevan Kulshekar, Joseph Mathais, Comedy star Arvind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Umesh Mijar, Gopinath Bhat are also among the brilliant cast of the movie.

Meticulously worked on is the element of comedy in the film. Famed comedians Arvind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Umesh Mirza are seen acting here, with their witty dialogues and unique comic style. Gopinath Bhat has performed exceedingly well as the villain.

Those who have been gripped by the spectacular stunts in Singam Returns, Happy New Year, Dilwale, Brisham and Rockey Handsome will witness similar feats in this movie too. The stunts are sure to impress and thrill the audience as Bollywood's stunt director Sunil Rod who has directed stunts in those films has also directed stunts in 'Ashem Zalem Kashem'. The stunts have aroused great curiosity among the spectators.

The stunt director hailing from Barkur, now settled in Mumbai, is in high demand in Mumbai. He has taken over the responsibility of the fight scenes for the second film in his mother tongue. Similarly, Janet Mathias from Mumbai has directed the dance sequence in the movie. New Ocean Kids too have exhibited their dancing skills in the film.

The melodious songs in the movie have been composed under the directorship of Patson Pereira with lyrics provided by Maxim Pereira, Wilson Kateel, and Joe Rego Kulshekar.

Roopesh Calicut and Udaya Balla have skilfully handled camera-work of the movie.

The movie has completed its dubbing with Daijworld Audio-Visual studio, and the post-production of the movie is in full swing with D.I. and 5.1 audio theatrical mixing in progress there.

Vincent D'Souza Nithyadhar Nagar, Maxim Pereira Anjelore and Joe Pereira are the producers of the film. Roy Castelino, Jossy Sequeira, Manu Bantwal, Anil D' Mello Shankerpura, Blaney D'Souza have provided their invaluable suggestions and constant cooperation.

Carol Prem D'souza of Ferns Production Mumbai has shouldered complete responsibility of the production of the movie. Kishore Moodbidri is the co-director of the film, whereas Satvik Hebbar and Sandeep Chowta are the assistant directors.

Daijiworld.com is the media partner of the film. The movie is in its post-production phase, at Daijiworld Audio-studio and is preparing to come out in a few months of shooting.

Besides Konkani, Tulu language audience eagerly awaits the release of Ashem Zalem Kashem in the months to come.
