Itangar, Jan 26 (IANS): Arunachal Pradesh Governor V. Shanmuganathan on Thursday said the state was determined to achieve unprecedented growth.
"Arunachal Pradesh will be a bright spot in India with an accelerated inclusive growth, equity and all round development," the Governor said while addressing the Republic Day function here.
Shanmuganathan urged people to be patient and contribute to the growth of the state, saying they should be a proud partner in the history in making.
He said the government was committed to financial inclusion of all citizens.
Complimenting Chief Minister Pema Khandu for his "prudence" and "sound financial management", Shanmuganathan said: "The state government has been able to clear a large portion of the past liabilities.
"This has been done by systematically cutting down on wasteful expenditure and following the policy of financial reconstruction."
He also said Arunachal Pradesh was one of the first states to ratify the constitutional amendment bill, paving the way for the Goods and Services Tax.
"In the years to come Likabali, Ruksin, Tezu and Rupai will be connected through railways. The Ministry of Railways is likely to lay the foundation stone for the Jonai-Pasighat broad gauge line and announce the ground survey of three important lines in the state soon," he said.
