Udupi: Manipal University to Mingle with France on Feb 22-23

Udupi, Feb 12: ‘France in Manipal’  a unique two-day endeavour of Manipal University will be held on Friday, February 22 and Saturday February 23 at the MIT Quadrangle.  

The entire event is the brain-child of the French Embassy which has designed, initiated, and organized it, in collaboration with Manipal University, to showcase their country's multifaceted culture.  

According to Prof Rajasekharan Warrier, vice-chancellor of Manipal University, 'The university-town will experience France right on its campus.'     

Moreover the event will also serve as a network building exercise between the French Embassy and Manipal University, added Prof Warrier.
 
The convener of the event Alain Andre, speaking to the press informed that science and technology, culture, business and higher education will be presented through cultural shows, counselling sessions, presentations and lectures.  

The highlight of  ‘France in Manipal’ will be a French food festival, a rock concert, a quiz on France, a French film festival, campus recruitment and so on.  

Indian head of Thales group Francois Dunpont will address. Several leading corporations have backed the event viz, Thales group, Mahindra Renault, Altran Technologies, Accor hotels and SOTC. 

Also present on the occasion was education adviser of Campus France Vidya Suresh, president of Manipal University T Ramdas Pai, executive director R S P Rao, registrar Vinod Bhat and deputy registrar T Ranga Pai.
