Mangaluru: Police medal for meritorious service for Valentine D'Souza, Uday Nayak

Mangaluru, Jan 24: Two police officers from Mangaluru have been chosen for the prestigious police medal meritorious service to be awarded on Republic Day in Bengaluru.

They are Valentine D'Souza, assistant commissioner of police (ACP) of CCRB, Mangaluru, and Uday Nayak, ACP, central sub-division, Mangaluru city.

Valentine D'Souza had earlier served as inspector of city crime branch. Presently Valentine is ACP at CCRB in city. He joined police service in 1994 and has won many awards for his service including chief minister’s medal in 2009 and Udupi district Rajyotsava award. He is a body builder and has received many awards for his passionate sports that includes gold medal for body building from Mysore University and Mister Aisa Best Poser award in 2014.

Uday Nayak had earlier served as Lokayukta inspector and as ACP of traffic sub-division. Presently he serves as ACP at Central sub-division in Mangaluru city police. He joined police service in 1985 as probationary sub-inspector and has served in Shivamogga, Davanagere, Haveri and Dakshina Kannada districts.

They will receive the medals in a ceremony to be held in Bengaluru on January 26.
